Day 1
This is the first day I should have been at work but was instead working from home. Teachers were able to get into the building one last time, so I drove to school and picked up three instruments for my students who I thought might want them. Two of them responded that they wanted the instruments, so I dropped them off at their apartments. I brought Giant gift cards to one of the families. We don't know much about what is going on yet. Kevin has the news on almost 24/7, and the only thing anyone talks about is the coronavirus (COVID-19).
The reason everything is shutting down is because we are trying to "flatten the curve" so that all the cases of the virus don't hit the hospitals all at once. That's what happened in Italy, and they are having to make horrible life-and-death triage decisions, so their death toll is even worse than China's.
