Day 2

Still working from home. I dropped off another instrument at a student's apartment and gave his family another gift card for groceries. The school district is being wonderful and distributing as much food to families as they can, but it's so hard when kids rely on school meals. We are all really worried about students whose families are financially unstable. I communicated with some students using Google Classroom, and it's cute when they send me videos of them playing. Unfortunately the inequity of the situation is blatant -- most of the students connecting with me are the wealthier, privileged ones, even though all of them have their Chromebooks and most of them have internet.

K is struggling to help his students learn Zoom so they can have online lessons. He's finally feeling more confident about it today, but it takes hours to help them get set up.

We recorded a St. Patrick's Day fiddle tune for my students today. K made a delicious shepherd's pie and Lauren came over for dinner despite the "social distancing."
