Day 5
Today was slightly better. I had some more Zoom meetings with teachers and students. K made a wonderful breakfast of delicious biscuits, and we even played some fiddle tunes outside before I started working. We went on a mile jog with the jogging stroller this afternoon. That will be a good habit to get into.
Pennsylvania closed all non-essential businesses last night. I was hoping that would mean my dad wouldn't have to go to work, but unfortunately (fortunately?) his business is excused from the closures. My sister may be going up to PA this weekend to be with my parents so she's not isolated in her apartment alone.
We continue to be concerned about our parents who are in the high-risk group (60+). K's great aunt has cancer that has spread, so they are in and out of lots of doctors appointments and hospitals. Not a great place to be right now.
I really feel sorry for the students whose worlds have been upended right now, especially seniors in high school or college who have to end their year like this. All colleges are online for the rest of the year, and I imagine most public schools will do the same.
California's governor mandated that everyone "shelter-in-place" for now. It's probably just a matter of time until we get that here.
